Thousands of Nepalis attend Nepathya concert in South Korea during Chuseok

Amid the atmosphere of the Chuseok festival in South Korea, thousands of Nepali spectators gathered together for a concert by the popular Nepali band Nepathya.

This is the sixth time Nepathya has travelled to Korea to perform its folk-rock songs. The crowd at the event held at Kintex Hall on Friday was so large that organisers and Korean security personnel found it difficult to manage.

The singer himself had to appeal to the audience to ease the crush in front of the stage. The GTX trains heading to the venue were packed with Nepali spectators, and the state-of-the-art hall, which can hold thousands, was also completely full.

In Nepathya's nearly three-and-a-half-decade journey, such a large indoor gathering was said to be reminiscent of the scale of Wembley Arena in Britain. The concert began with the song 'Koshiko Pani Yo Jindagani'.
