Rafting resumes on Trishuli River after flood

Rafting on the Trishuli River, which had been halted after the flood on the Bhotekoshi River on Bhadau 10, has resumed regularly.
Water rafting was suspended for some time for safety reasons after the flood changed the river's flow and water level.
The Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA) decided to reopen the service after a team of experts, experienced guides and technicians inspected the main route on the ground.
The team studied changes in the river's flow, current and route. In some places, new rapids with strong currents and waves have formed, while some old channels have shifted. Still, experts said the current flow is suitable and safe for rafting.
Water tourism operators resumed services after the river returned to normal.
NARA President Kamal Thakuri said rafting was restarted only after repeated studies and inspections.
