Trishuli erosion washes away road at Galaundi, Prithvi Highway fully blocked

Vehicle movement on the Prithvi Highway has come to a complete halt after the road was washed away by erosion from the Trishuli River at Galaundi in Gajuri Rural Municipality-5, Dhading. The road collapsed in the Galaundi area, located near Gajuri on the Kathmandu side.

According to the Department of Roads, preparations are underway to start one-way vehicle movement from 9pm tonight. The highway is expected to resume two-way operation only from tomorrow evening.

With the highway blocked, cargo trucks carrying foodgrains toward Kathmandu and passenger buses have been stranded. Drivers and passengers have been forced to spend the night and eat their meals on the road itself due to the blockade.
