'Mantra Thakali' restaurant fined Rs 250,000 after complaint of insects found in food

The government has fined the popular restaurant 'Mantra Thakali' (Green Tara Hospitality Pvt. Ltd.), located in Maharajgunj, Kathmandu, Rs 250,000.

The restaurant was raided after a consumer complaint alleging that insects were found in the food. During the monitoring, extreme filth and unfit-for-consumption conditions were found in the kitchen.

The restaurant was made to pay the fine after insects and flies were found in the food as well as inside the fridge.

The government took this action against the restaurant following monitoring carried out on the basis of the consumer's complaint.
