We won't live off history's interest, we'll change Congress from today: President Thapa

Newly elected Nepali Congress President Gagan Kumar Thapa has said the party cannot move forward merely by living off the interest of its old history. He said this while addressing a program held at the party's central office in Sanepa on Saturday, after being elected president at the party's 15th general convention.

President Thapa pledged to change the party's traditional working style and transform Congress starting today itself. He said he would transform the party in a way that wins citizens' trust.

'Not by living off the interest of history, but by changing our actions, we will make history,' he said. He added that a new history needed to be made to address issues of public concern.

Meanwhile, vote counting for the open vice-president and general secretary posts under the convention is underway.
