Congress anti-establishment faction: Mangsir convention will unite the party, claims Koirala

Dr. Shashank Koirala, coordinator of the Nepali Congress's anti-establishment faction, has claimed that the general convention to be held in Mangsir will unite the party and give it strength to move forward in the coming elections.
He said this while inaugurating the province and regional convention of Kathmandu Constituency No. 4 on Saturday. The convention was organized under the 15th General Convention Organizing Committee formed by this same faction.
According to Koirala, Congress remains strong even now, and even if all other forces unite, they cannot defeat it. He said Congress should not misuse power and should not let others misuse it either.
Saying that politics should be for public service and not for enjoying power, he said that when values and systems weaken, money dominates and elections become expensive. While urging everyone to come together, he asked party workers not to let their own thinking become clouded and to remain firm on clear policies.
Recalling the Quit India Movement associated with BP Koirala and Matrika Prasad Koirala, he said courage is needed to bear the cost of speaking the truth.
