Street food festivals targeting Dashain are set to be held in Bhairahawa and Biratnagar.

The Chamber of Commerce Rupandehi has announced that it will hold the 'Siddhartha Street Food Festival–2083' in Bhairahawa on Asoj 24 and 25, on the eve of Ghatasthapana. The festival will run from 5 pm to midnight on the road from the bus park to Devkota Chowk. According to the organisers, around 100 stalls will be set up and more than 50,000 participants are expected.

The festival will offer dishes ranging from star hotel cuisine to traditional dishes of various ethnic groups.

Chamber president Sachin Roka said the festival is being organised to connect local producers, farmers, and women and youth entrepreneurs directly with the market. Singer Durgesh Thapa and Bhojpuri artist Preeti Paswan will also perform. Coordinator Binod Kharel said another aim of the festival is to extend the stay of tourists arriving through the Belhiya crossing.

Meanwhile, in Biratnagar, Manjina Movies Creation will hold its sixth street and food festival from Asoj 25 to 30. Director Jatin Tamrakar said more than 30 dishes will have stalls along the stretch from Himalaya Road to Traffic Chowk. The festival will run from 3 pm to 9 pm, and traffic on that road will be diverted to alternative routes from 2 pm.
