Devotees visit Baglung Kalika temple amid rain

Despite continuous rain, the flow of devotees to Baglung Kalika temple has not stopped since Saturday morning.

Devotees from Parbat, Myagdi, Kaski, Kathmandu and other places have come to Baglung's famous religious site, the Kalika temple, for worship. Although the temple usually sees a larger crowd on Saturdays, turnout is relatively low today due to the rain.

The temple management committee said the number of devotees has dropped because floods and landslides have blocked roads in various places and due to the adverse weather.

Special worship is held at this temple during Chaite Dashain and Bada Dashain. In recent times, devotees have also started coming on other days as well. There is a popular belief that worshipping at this temple fulfills one's wishes.

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at most places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Gandaki province today, with heavy to very heavy rain possible at a few places. The department has forecast a 100 percent chance of heavy rain with thunder in Pokhara, Gandaki, today. Gusty winds may also blow at some places in the hilly areas of the province.

Tomorrow too, most of Gandaki will be cloudy, with heavy to very heavy rain possible at a few places.
