Budhigandaki floods: Army rescues 49, five still missing from sheep shed

The Nepali Army has rescued 49 people affected by flooding in the Budhigandaki river in Gorkha. The Army gave this information in a notice issued on Sunday. It has deployed helicopters to bring people stranded in the flood-affected area to safe locations. Drones have also been used in the rescue operation.
Five people have been out of contact after being caught in a landslide that occurred following flooding in the Ungilung stream, which flows through Chumnubri Rural Municipality-6. According to a press note from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, two women and three men who were at a sheep shed in Ungilung, Chumchet, are out of contact.
The flooding in the Budhigandaki was caused by a large landslide that fell between Lokpa and Chumling. A total of 437 security personnel have been deployed for search and rescue.
The flood has caused extensive damage to houses, bridges and structures of hydropower projects.
