Trump announces Russia-Ukraine 'energy ceasefire', Zelensky backs it with conditions

US President Donald Trump has announced that Russia and Ukraine have agreed to stop attacking each other's energy sectors.
On Sunday, he said on social media that the ceasefire had taken effect immediately and urged both sides not to break the agreement. However, he did not provide detailed information about the terms of the agreement.
Neither Russia nor Ukraine responded immediately after the announcement.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky later voiced support for the announcement, saying Russia must also show commitment to the ceasefire. He said he had discussed the matter with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Finnish President Alexander Stubb and NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte.
Zelensky said he was awaiting further details of the agreement from the American side. He had earlier said that if Russia stopped attacking Ukrainian energy infrastructure, Ukraine would also stop attacking Russian oil refineries.
On Saturday, President Trump had remarked that it was time for Ukraine to choose a new president, accusing Zelensky of not making enough effort to end the war. In response, Zelensky said Russia itself was responsible for the war.
