Budhigandaki flood strands over 100 foreign trekkers headed to Manaslu

After a flood in the Budhigandaki river in Gorkha damaged the trekking trail on Sunday morning, tourists heading toward the Manaslu Conservation Area have been unable to reach their destination and are stranded midway. More than 100 foreign tourists are among those stranded.
According to Bhuwan Raj Ojha, conservation officer at the Manaslu Conservation Area Project, all the tourists are in safe locations. He said efforts were underway to rescue them.
This comes a month and a half after a flood in the Bhotekoshi river halted trekking in the Langtang region, with trekking in the Manaslu area now also disrupted by disaster during the tourist season.
