Chitwan sets up traveler help desks for festivals, Parsa police urge vigilance against theft

Traveler help desks have begun operating at eight locations in Chitwan to make travel easier for commuters during the festive season.
The desks were set up through a joint initiative of the District Administration Office, District Police Office and District Traffic Police Office. Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal said the desks were opened to provide travelers with necessary information, make their journeys smoother and address complaints promptly.
According to him, health assistance desks will also be set up alongside festival-focused security and road-safety measures. Aryal said the district administration is taking the lead in resolving any obstructions on the highways.
Police and traffic police have been deployed to control theft, online fraud, gambling and road accidents.
Separately, the District Police Office, Parsa, has urged district residents to take precautions against theft, robbery and looting during the festive season. Police have asked people to properly lock doors and windows when visiting relatives or going to the market, and to inform neighbors or police when they will be away from home.
Police have also suggested not leaving jewelry, expensive electronic goods and large amounts of cash at home, and instead keeping them in a bank or a secure locker. Police have requested that if an unfamiliar or suspicious person is seen loitering in the neighborhood, people should immediately alert one another.
