Ichchhakamana Basic Hospital, located at Ichchhakamana Rural Municipality-4, Kurintar in Chitwan, has started providing services from a well-equipped new building for the first time.

Bagmati Province Chief Minister Kiran Thapa Magar inaugurated the building on Sunday.

According to Rural Municipality Chair Danbahadur Gurung, the building, built with an investment of about Rs 145 million from the federal government, has 15 beds. The hospital had previously been operating from an old building.

Chair Gurung said that, besides Ichchhakamana, residents from various local levels in Gorkha and Dhading also come here for services.

The government had approved a model staffing structure of 30 employees for the hospital in fiscal year 2079 BS. Currently, 30 staff are working, led by an eighth-level medical officer along with two additional medical officers.

The hospital provides round-the-clock emergency, maternity and ambulance services.
