Shoppers crowd Kathmandu's open markets as Dashain nears

As Bada Dashain draws near, the number of customers visiting open markets, including Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu, has increased. Traders are busy as more people come to buy new clothes for their families, relatives and children.
Ashok Khatiwada, a trader at a fancy goods shop in the Bhrikutimandap open market, said customer movement in the market has been increasing for a few days. He said customers are busy selecting clothes, asking about prices and buying the items they need.
According to him, the number of customers looking for clothes for children, youth and senior citizens has risen significantly. He said the number of people buying clothes is increasing every day as Dashain approaches, and that the market has seen more crowds since this morning than before.
