Narayani river crosses danger level, floods settlements

The water level of the Narayani river at Devghat in Chitwan has risen above the danger level.

According to the Flood Forecasting Division, the water level has reached about 11 meters and is still rising. Here, 9 meters is considered the danger level, while the warning level is set at 7.3 meters.

The division has issued a special bulletin warning of high risk in the Narayani river and its tributaries. High alert has been maintained in Chitwan and Nawalparasi.

Settlements from Bardaghat to Susta-East in Nawalparasi have been flooded. Water has also entered Botetol in Gaindakot Municipality-2 and the Amaltari area of Kawasoti.

The flow at the Gandak Barrage, which connects Triveni with Bhainsalotan in India, has also exceeded the danger level.
