Clouds over hills and mountains, morning fog in Tarai; moderate rain likely in Madhesh tomorrow

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said hilly and mountainous regions of the country will see cloudy weather today, while morning fog is expected in the Tarai. According to the department, the monsoon airflow across the country currently has a partial influence from westerly winds.

Today, hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces will generally be cloudy, while Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim will see partly cloudy conditions. The department has said light rain or snowfall may occur at one or two places in the hills and mountains of Koshi, and in the hilly parts of Bagmati and Gandaki.

Tomorrow, moderate rain is forecast at one or two places in Madhesh Province and in the Tarai areas of Koshi and Bagmati. The department has also said that, starting tomorrow, a few places in the hilly and mountainous parts of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini may see moderate rain or snowfall, while one or two places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Karnali and Sudurpashchim may see light rain or snowfall tomorrow.

Among major cities, the temperature is expected to be 25 degrees Celsius in Janakpur, 23 degrees in Biratnagar and Nepalgunj, and 22 degrees in Pokhara. Kathmandu is expected to see 19 degrees and Birendranagar 20 degrees Celsius. The chance of rain in all six of these cities is shown as zero percent. The department has said morning fog is expected in Biratnagar, Janakpur and Nepalgunj.
