Agriculture modernization zones expand vegetable and paddy farming in Tanahun

The area under commercial vegetable and paddy farming is expanding in Tanahun. This has happened through the vegetable and paddy zones run under the National Agriculture Modernization Program.

Nearly 4,000 farmers have benefited from these zones, which are being expanded across the district.

The program covers farmers, cooperatives, farmer groups and agricultural entrepreneurs. It is expected to help commercialize production and organize the workforce engaged in the agriculture sector.

Sources say that with work underway through the zones for both vegetable and paddy crops, commercial farming is increasingly replacing traditional farming in Tanahun.
