Premier League: Villa ends City's winning run, Arsenal level on points

Aston Villa beat Manchester City 2-1 in the English Premier League, ending City's run of seven consecutive wins. Both Villa goals in the match at Villa Park on Saturday were scored by Nicolas Jackson.

In the sixth minute, Jackson gave Villa the lead after City defender Marc Guehi's poor touch, finishing a pass from captain John McGinn. Erling Haaland equalised in the 52nd minute, heading in a cross from Eliman N'Diaye. Eight minutes later, substitute Ibrahim Embaye set up Jackson's second goal, putting Villa back in front.

The win was Villa's fifth in their last seven meetings with City and their fourth straight home win over them. With this victory, Villa have moved into the top 10 of the league table. City, meanwhile, suffered their first defeat of the season in their eighth match.

Elsewhere, Arsenal beat Everton 2-0 at home. Gabriel scored in his 200th Premier League appearance. The two sides are now level on points, but City lead on goal difference with Arsenal in second place.
