Protest against appointment of Ani Choeing as Lumbini Development Fund vice-chair, probe demanded

A protest has been held against the appointment of Ani Choeing Dolma as vice-chair of the Lumbini Development Fund. Demands have been raised for a fair investigation into her citizenship and into the $1.6 million reportedly brought in from Hong Kong.
The Mahabhiyan group staging the protest demanded that the controversial appointment be scrapped, that the allegations raised be investigated impartially, and that Lumbini's sanctity and international reputation be protected.
In Butwal on Saturday, senior advocate Tripathi also objected to the appointment, alleging that a person who should be in jail had instead been rewarded.
Questions have been raised about her citizenship and the funds since her appointment as vice-chair. Protesters have demanded a fair investigation into these matters.
