Veteran artist Neer Shah honored with Amarbhawana National Creator Award

Veteran artist and lyricist Neer Shah has been honored with the 'Amarbhawana National Creator Award.'

At a ceremony in Kathmandu marking the 17th anniversary of the Lyricists' Association Nepal, he was presented with a certificate of honor along with cash of about 150,000 rupees, and was also honored with a garland and shawl.

Shah has been contributing to Nepali art and music for more than five decades. His well-known songs include 'Badal Banai Deu Akar Badalna Sakun,' 'Gahiraima Dubdai Naduba,' 'Parkhi Basen Aula Bhani,' 'Pyari Basanti' and 'Pasinako Jalaile.'

'Timisanga Dungama Ghumda Ghumdai Fewatal,' 'Hiubhanda Chiso, Aagobhanda Tato,' 'Khuldaina Talcha Tyo Dhokako' and 'Aakhaimai Kasaiko Tasbir' are also his compositions.

'Kahilekahi Haschu Dherai Nai Haschu' and 'Arko Juni Chahidaina Malai' are also popular among listeners.

At the ceremony, Nilam Angbuhang Rai, who has been writing songs while living abroad, was given this year's 'Diaspora Lyricist Award.' 'Purano Hudaina Maya' and 'Pani Mitho Mero Hajur Ilam Bazarko' are Rai's popular songs.
