Cloudy skies with scattered light rain in hills and mountains, partly cloudy in Tarai

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast generally cloudy conditions today in the hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces. The mountainous areas of Koshi and Bagmati will also be cloudy, while mountainous parts of Karnali and Sudurpashchim will be partly cloudy, the department said.

The Tarai will be partly cloudy, and light rain or snowfall is possible in some parts of the mountains and hills. According to the department, the monsoon's low-pressure axis lies around its normal position, and the country is under the partial influence of both monsoon and westerly winds.

Tomorrow, light rain or snowfall is likely only in a few places in the mountainous and hilly parts of Koshi and Bagmati. The mountainous and hilly areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim will be partly cloudy tomorrow.

Among major cities, Janakpur's temperature is expected to reach 34 to 36 degrees Celsius. Biratnagar and Nepalgunj will see temperatures of 33 to 35 degrees, with no chance of rain there. Kathmandu will have temperatures of 28 to 30 degrees, with a 20 percent chance of light rain with thunder. Pokhara will see temperatures of 30 to 32 degrees, with a 30 percent chance of rain. Birendranagar will have temperatures of 31 to 33 degrees, with a 20 percent chance of rain.
