Rain continues in most parts of Nepal till Friday, weather to improve from Saturday

Rain accompanied by thunder is occurring in most parts of the country. The rainfall is due to the effect of a western low-pressure system and monsoon winds. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, this pattern will continue till Friday and the weather will gradually improve from Saturday.
According to meteorologist Rojan Lamichhane, heavy rainfall is possible in some places till Friday. Thunder, lightning and rain accompanied by strong winds have been occurring on Wednesday in Kathmandu Valley and various other parts of the country. In Kupondole, Lalitpur, a tree fell due to strong winds, blocking the road connecting Lalitpur and Kathmandu.
As rain has been occurring in most parts of Karnali Province for the past 24 hours, warnings have been issued for all districts of the province. People have been urged to remain alert as landslides, road blockages and rising water levels in rivers and streams are possible in hilly and sloped areas.
Following heavy rainfall recorded over the past three hours at the Simalpani hydrological station in Arghakhanchi, caution has been urged for small rivers and the lower riparian areas of the Banganga River.
