Track reopens at most points on Beni-Jomsom-Korala road, set to resume by Monday

Work to reopen the Beni-Jomsom-Korala road, which was blocked due to floods and landslides, has reached its final stage. According to the Department of Roads, landslide debris has been cleared and the track reopened at most points along the road section.
Rain that fell from Asoj 8 to 11 caused flooding in the Kaligandaki river, and the resulting floods and landslides damaged various sections of this road under the Kaligandaki corridor. Repair and reconstruction work has since been intensified.
Soil filling work is underway at Pokharebagar to enable the road to operate. According to the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, vehicle movement on the road is expected to resume by next Monday, Asoj 26.
