Congress election committee hands over 10 million rupees to the party

The Nepali Congress Central Election Committee has handed over 10 million rupees to the party from the balance remaining in its account after the 15th General Convention concluded.
According to the committee, a cheque for that amount was handed to the Central Working Committee. The committee said the money was given so that the newly elected leadership would not face a financial shortfall while running the party.
The committee said it is still finalising the accounts of the total funds raised during the election process. Office-bearers of the election committee made clear that none of them took any remuneration or allowance, working entirely on a voluntary basis.
The committee said it was that contribution which left the surplus funds, which have now been given to help strengthen the organisation and support the new leadership's work.
