Nepali documentary 'The Everest Dream' wins Special Jury Award in Shimla

The Nepali documentary 'The Everest Dream' has won the Special Jury Short Documentary Award at the 12th International Film Festival of Shimla, held in India.

The documentary, directed and produced by journalist Ganesh Pandey, competed against documentaries from various countries around the world.

Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta and festival director Pushparaj Thakur presented the award to Pandey at a ceremony held on Sunday.

Films from nearly 33 countries took part in the festival, held at Shimla's historic Gaiety Heritage Complex from Asoj 9 to 11.

The documentary shows the adventurous journey to Everest Base Camp of British citizens who have faced numerous challenges in life after suffering serious brain injuries. The film covers their experiences from rigorous training that began in Scotland to their journey through the Himalayas in Nepal.
