Partly cloudy in hills today, clear in Tarai; light rain likely in hilly areas tomorrow

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast partly cloudy weather today in the country's Himalayan and hilly regions, while the Tarai will remain mostly clear.

According to the department, the monsoon's low-pressure trough currently lies around its average position, with the monsoon wind combined with a partial effect of westerly winds across the country.

Tomorrow, the weather is expected to be partly cloudy across the country. The department said light rain or snowfall is likely at a few places in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Koshi and Bagmati provinces.

A similar possibility exists at one or two places in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.

According to the department's forecast for six major cities, Kathmandu's temperature will range from 17 to 19 degrees Celsius. Pokhara and Birendranagar are expected to see 19 to 21 degrees Celsius.

Biratnagar and Nepalgunj will see 22 to 24 degrees, while Janakpur will see 23 to 25 degrees Celsius, the department said. All six cities have a zero percent chance of rain.

Kathmandu, Pokhara and Birendranagar are forecast to be partly cloudy, while Biratnagar, Janakpur and Nepalgunj will be mostly clear. The department has not issued any special weather alert this time.
