Cloudy nationwide today, heavy rain likely in Gandaki and Lumbini

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather will generally remain cloudy across the country today, with heavy rain possible in some parts of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.
The department said the country is being affected by both a western low-pressure system and monsoon winds. Heavy rain is likely in the hilly areas of Gandaki and Lumbini and at one or two places in the Tarai region of Lumbini.
Moderate rain with thunder and lightning is likely at a few places in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Karnali. Light rain or snow is possible at one or two places in the Himalayan region, while fog may form in the Tarai in the morning.
In Kathmandu, the temperature will range from 15 to 17 degrees Celsius, with a 30 percent chance of rain, the department said. In Pokhara, the temperature will be between 17 and 19 degrees, with a 40 percent chance of rain.
Biratnagar and Janakpur are forecast to see temperatures between 23 and 25 degrees, and Nepalgunj between 22 and 24 degrees, with morning fog expected. There is zero chance of rain in these three cities. Birendranagar will see cloudy skies with temperatures between 18 and 20 degrees.
Tomorrow, heavy rain is likely at one or two places in the hilly and Tarai areas of Bagmati and Gandaki. The department said a few places in the hilly areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim may see hail along with thunder, and light rain or snow.
