During Dashain, Valley residents can get gas by handing in any company's empty cylinder

To ensure cooking gas is easily available during major festivals such as Dashain, Tihar and Chhath, Nepal Oil Corporation has introduced a new arrangement. Cylinders of different companies can now be exchanged with each other in Kathmandu Valley.

Under this arrangement, consumers in the Valley can hand over an empty cylinder of any brand. In exchange, they can collect a filled cylinder of another company from a location convenient to them.

Consumers will not have to pay any extra charge for exchanging cylinders.

The corporation said the arrangement has been made to ease supply, since demand for gas rises during festivals.
