Kathmandu Metropolitan City will now send its letters and other documents through the postal service. For this, the metropolis has signed an agreement with the Goshwara post office in Dillibazar.

Under the agreement, the post office will deliver letters, reports, invitations, certificates and parcels to various agencies and individuals.

Mahesh Kafle, head of the metropolis's Administration Department, said the arrangement has been made to make correspondence more organised and secure and to ensure it reaches recipients within the set time.

Letters sent from departments, divisions, the secretariat, units and projects will first be deposited at a central liaison unit. From there, they will be handed over to the post office along with the recipient's address and contact details.

Kafle said the post office will register the items in its system, sort them, and deliver them to recipients either directly or through delivery agents.
