Partly cloudy nationwide today, light rain and snow likely in mountains and hills

With the monsoon's low-pressure trough lying around its average position, the weather forecast predicts partly cloudy skies across the country today. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, light rain and snowfall are likely at one or two places in the mountain and hill regions.

Currently, the monsoon wind and the westerly wind are having a partial effect across the country. Both winds are gradually weakening.

After continuous rainfall since last Wednesday stopped from Sunday night, the weather has cleared in many parts of the country. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there has been no rain in the past 24 hours except for scattered showers.

With the weather clearing, temperatures are forecast to rise in the Tarai region from today.
