Narayani floods enter Susta, over 1,000 locals moved across river

More than 1,000 locals have been moved to safe locations after Narayani River floodwaters entered Susta Rural Municipality-5 in western Nawalparasi. Flooding began entering the settlement on Friday after continuous rainfall increased the river's flow.

As the river's flow began rising, locals were initially kept at a holding center in Susta. On Saturday night, the flood entered the settlement and the holding center itself came under threat. They were then brought across to this side of the Narayani.

All residents of Susta have now been brought across the Narayani. The displaced have been housed in a school.
