Siege against UML continues, must take to protests if repression happens: Oli

CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has said that the political siege against UML is still ongoing. He said this while administering the oath of office and secrecy to 13 members nominated to the central committee at the party's central office in Chyasal on Monday.

Oli said a siege could also occur during the upcoming election and that the party must move forward by facing the challenge. He claimed that democracy has been destroyed in the country and national dignity weakened, making a movement for its restoration essential. He said that if unarmed citizens are suppressed by weapons and organized force, the people must resist.

Oli also said the party had fallen behind in the last election because it failed to break through its opponents' conspiracies. He directed the central committee members to work with a clear plan, competence and activeness so that results are visible.

UML's Standing Committee meeting held on Asoj 24 had nominated them as central committee members. Those taking the oath include Sirjana Rai, Pushpa KC, Savitra Aryal, Indu Kaderiya and Sita Pangeni, among others.
