Bagmati's Manakamana and Madhesh's Janajyoti crowned U-18 school football champions

Manakamana School of Bagmati province and Janajyoti Secondary School of Madhesh province won the boys' and girls' titles respectively at the Asian Paints inter-school U-18 national football championship.

Both finals were played on Monday at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar, Kathmandu. More than 300 schools from across the country had competed through district and provincial-level qualifiers to reach the national stage.

In the girls' final, Janajyoti defeated Shree Jeevanjyoti Secondary School of Sudurpashchim by a score of 7-2. Anita Ranamagar of the winning team scored a hat-trick, while Rai scored two goals.

Diksha Ranapal and Rakisha Dangal added one goal each. For Sudurpashchim, Bibisha Bista scored both goals.

In the boys' final, Manakamana defeated Gurukul Vidyasadan of Gandaki province 2-0.
