Congress pledges to repair any damage caused to Khula Manch

Nepali Congress has committed to take full responsibility for repairing any damage caused to Kathmandu's Khula Manch during the period of its 15th general convention. The party has sent a letter containing this commitment to the Chief Administrative Officer of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
According to the letter, Congress had booked Khula Manch for the convention from Asoj 14 to 23. The letter states that the party will itself bear the cost of compensating for any damage to the premises during that period. Congress also expressed confidence that the metropolitan city would provide the necessary cooperation, coordination and facilitation for the successful and orderly completion of the politically significant national event.
Meanwhile, photographs made public after the convention show that the grassy ground at Khula Manch, which the metropolitan city had turfed with doob grass, has been completely ruined. Three temporary halls, a stage for the inaugural session, a press center and various tents had been built there for the convention. The grassy ground where these structures stood has now turned to mud.
