Tourists in Manaslu region safe, Tsum Valley trek suspended

The Manaslu Conservation Area Project (MCAP) has said that both domestic and foreign tourists trekking in the Manaslu region, which was affected by flooding in the Budhigandaki River, are safe. According to Gorkhapatra, all 98 tourists who had reached Manaslu are safe.
The trek to Tsum Valley has been suspended due to the flooding. The flood affected Chumnubri Rural Municipality-6 in Gorkha on Sunday.
Tourists trekking to Manaslu and Tsum Valley in northern Gorkha have been stranded because of the flooding and landslides. Ratopati has reported that foreign tourists stopped by the blocked trail are waiting to be rescued from Jagat and Chekampar.
The Budhigandaki flood has blocked roads and trails in the area. Although MCAP says the tourists are safe, they have not been able to return immediately because the routes remain blocked.
