Terai mostly clear, hills and mountains partly cloudy with scattered light rain

Weather across the country's Terai region is forecast to remain mostly clear today, while hilly and mountainous areas will see partly cloudy conditions. According to the forecast issued by the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology at 8 am today, light rain or snow may occur in one or two places in the hills and mountains.

The department said the monsoon trough currently lies around its normal position, with the monsoon winds across the country being partially affected by westerly winds as well. Tomorrow, too, the Terai is expected to remain clear while the hills and mountains stay partly cloudy.

Among major cities, Biratnagar is forecast to see the highest temperatures, ranging from 33 to 35 degrees Celsius. Nepalgunj is expected to see 32 to 34 degrees, while Janakpur and Birendranagar are forecast to have 31 to 33 degrees Celsius. Biratnagar and Birendranagar will be mostly clear, while Janakpur and Nepalgunj will be partly cloudy.

Pokhara is expected to have temperatures between 29 and 31 degrees, with a 20 percent chance of light rain with thunder. Kathmandu is forecast to be partly cloudy with temperatures between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius. Apart from Pokhara, all these cities have zero percent chance of rain.
