Ganesh Parajuli set to chair disaster special committee

RSP parliamentary party leader Ganesh Parajuli is confirmed to become chair of the parliamentary special committee on climate change in the mountains and the Bhotekoshi-Trishuli disaster. Only his candidacy was filed within the deadline of 4 pm Tuesday for candidacy registration. The election for chair is scheduled for 2 pm tomorrow, Wednesday.

Lawmakers from all parties in the House of Representatives have supported Parajuli. Nepali Congress lawmaker Mohan Acharya is his proposer. His supporters include UML's Pushpa Raj Kandel, RPP's Saraswati Lama, NCP's Ramesh Kumar Malla, RSP's Nisha Dangi, and Labor Culture Party's Dhruba Raj Rai.

After the devastating flood in Bhotekoshi in Rasuwa on Bhadra 10, the House of Representatives had formed this 15-member committee on Asoj 5.
