Irrigation department launches special programme prioritising youth returned from foreign employment

The Department of Water Resources and Irrigation, under the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, has launched a special groundwater irrigation programme to promote agricultural entrepreneurship. The department says the programme targets youth who have returned from foreign employment.
The programme gives high priority to young farmers who have returned from foreign employment. Its aim is to attract youth returning from abroad toward agricultural enterprise and connect them with farming.
The programme focuses on groundwater-based irrigation. It has been brought with the goal of increasing agricultural entrepreneurship by providing irrigation facilities.
The government has launched this special programme to engage youth returned from foreign employment in agricultural enterprise within the country. The programme will be run through the Department of Water Resources and Irrigation.
