Investment Board approves about Rs 21 billion for Nar Khola, Sani Bheri-3 hydropower

The Investment Board has approved around Rs 21 billion in investment for two semi-reservoir hydropower projects.
The decision was made at the board's 68th meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Balen Shah.
According to the board, the nearly 59-megawatt Nar Khola project will cost about Rs 10.75 billion, while the roughly 47-megawatt Sani Bheri-3 project is estimated to cost about Rs 10.42 billion.
The meeting also decided to bring the 900-megawatt Arun-3 project into commercial production by February 2028. The board said it would facilitate immediate progress on the equally sized Upper Karnali project in line with its construction development agreement, which was signed in Asoj 2071 BS.
The board's chief executive officer has been given additional authority to facilitate implementation of approved projects and services to investors.
