The share market indicator NEPSE rose by double digits on Friday, the last trading day of the week. According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, NEPSE climbed by about 17 points to reach nearly 2,592 points.

The Sensitive Index, which measures the trading of large companies, rose by about 4 points to reach nearly 466 points. The Float and Sensitive Float indices also climbed by about 1.5 points each. Indices of all sub-groups in the market rose, with the banking group climbing by about 1.25 percent.

On Friday, about 12.9 million kitta (units) of shares worth nearly Rs 4.83 billion were traded. The previous day, Thursday, the trading amount had been less than Rs 4 billion, while NEPSE had risen by only about 2 points.

Today, the number of companies whose share price rose is roughly double the number whose price fell. The prices of some companies remained unchanged. Investors in Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower, Sindhu Development Bank and Solu Hydropower were in profit, with Kutheli Bukhari's share price rising by nearly 5 percent. Even on a day when the market rose, Ridge Line Energy's share price fell by about 8 percent.
