Rain likely to increase through the day after tomorrow; snowfall possible in Himalayan areas

Although the monsoon has begun to withdraw from Nepal, rainfall activity is expected to increase in the coming days, meteorologists have said. According to meteorologist Binod Pokhrel, rain is likely to intensify from today, Asoj 19, through the day after tomorrow. Rain is expected in many places until Ghatasthapana.

According to the Department of Meteorology, light to moderate rain is likely in some places during the day and at night. At night, light rain or snowfall may occur in one or two places in the Himalayan areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, according to the forecast.
Heavy rain has been falling in Lumbini Province since early this morning. According to the Weather Forecasting Division, 23.4 millimetres of rain was recorded in Chandragadhi, Jhapa, in the past one hour.
