Foreign minister Khanal meets NSW premier and Australian foreign minister in Sydney

Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal held separate meetings with New South Wales Premier Chris Minns and Australian Foreign Minister Senator Penny Wong during his visit to Australia.
At the meeting in Sydney, Premier Minns expressed sorrow over the damage caused by the recent floods and disaster in Nepal.
The minister's secretariat said Minns stated that the New South Wales government was ready to help with post-disaster recovery and reconstruction.
Minister Khanal thanked the people of New South Wales, the Nepali diaspora and various communities there for showing solidarity with the affected Nepalis.
The two sides discussed cooperation in trade, energy, mining, infrastructure, and technical and vocational education and training (TVET).
At the meeting in Melbourne, Foreign Minister Wong expressed sympathy for flood-affected families and communities, saying Australia stood with Nepal in rescue, early recovery and reconstruction.
Minister Khanal expressed gratitude for the humanitarian assistance Australia had sent promptly during the disaster.
The two ministers also discussed the shared risks that climate change poses to Nepal and Pacific countries, as well as expanding educational cooperation.
