UML standing committee's seven decisions: 13 named to central committee, ward convention on Mangsir 26

The CPN-UML standing committee meeting has made seven decisions, including nominating 13 members to the central committee. The three-day meeting, which began Thursday at the party's central office in Chyasal, Lalitpur, concluded on Saturday.

According to party secretary Mahesh Basnet, those nominated to the central committee include Shrijana Rai and Pushpa KC, among others. The nominees comprise 6 women and 6 men.

The meeting decided to complete the party's ward-level committee convention on Mangsir 26 and the rural municipality and municipality-level committee conventions on Poush 4. It also decided to hold the party's national assembly in the first week of the coming Mangsir.

After the meeting, Chairman KP Sharma Oli said that public talk of a rift in his relationship with General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel was baseless. Standing committee member Chhabilal Bishwakarma also said there was no misunderstanding between the party leadership and office bearers, claiming that comments about the dispute were orchestrated.
