Education Minister Pokharel directs Lumbini Buddhist University to focus on Buddhist philosophy

Education and Sports Minister and Pro-Chancellor of Lumbini Buddhist University Sasmit Pokharel has directed the university to run academic programs centered on Buddhist philosophy.

During an observation visit to the university, located in Rupandehi, today, Minister Pokharel said the university must maintain its distinct identity. He said academic programs should be run in focus on Buddhist philosophy, in line with the objective for which the university was established.

Meanwhile, a demand has been made to the education minister to investigate alleged irregularities at the university. A memorandum submitted to the minister urged the government to develop the university as a center meeting local needs and providing world-class Buddhist education.
