Cloudy skies nationwide, heavy rain likely in some parts of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology said skies will generally remain cloudy across the country today, with heavy rain possible in one or two places in the hilly and Terai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim provinces. Heavy rain is also likely in one or two places in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali provinces.

According to the department, the western low-pressure system and monsoon winds are both currently affecting the country. Moderate rain or snowfall with thunderstorms is likely in a few places in the Himalayan region.

Temperatures in Kathmandu are expected to range from 26 to 28 degrees Celsius, and in Pokhara from 28 to 30 degrees. Biratnagar is expected to see the highest temperatures, at 32 to 34 degrees.

The chance of rain is 40 percent in Kathmandu, Pokhara, Nepalgunj and Birendranagar.

For tomorrow, the department forecasts that the Himalayan and hilly areas will remain cloudy, with moderate rain in some places. In the Terai, including Madhesh and Koshi, skies are expected to be partly cloudy.
