Demolition begins on Pokhara Metropolitan building gutted in Gen Z protests

Demolition has begun on the Pokhara Metropolitan City building, which was burned and reduced to ruins during the Gen Z movement.
The metropolitan city has handed over the job of demolishing the building and clearing the site to a private company. An agreement worth Rs 39.3 million has been signed for the work.
Under the agreement, the company must remove the debris and vacate the land by Poush 15.
With its own building destroyed, the metropolitan city is currently operating from a rented building, paying rent of Rs 750,000 per month.
For a permanent office, the metropolitan city has planned to construct a new building at a cost of Rs 680 million in the Damside area of Pokhara-17.
