Snow clearing on Nyalu pass halted midway, Humla's Limi road still blocked

Snow clearing on the road connecting Limi in Namkha Rural Municipality-6, Humla, has been halted midway.
The work, which began a few days ago as decided by the District Disaster Management Committee, stopped before completion. A JCB that reached the area via Salli had cleared snow from Seliwang Daha, opening the road from Nyalu pass toward Simikot.
However, the JCB turned back without clearing snow from the section between Nyalu pass and Limi, said Limi ward chair Paljor Tamang. According to him, snow 3 to 5 feet deep has accumulated on the Nyalu pass road.
Since thick snow remains on the Limi-facing section of the pass, the road has not been fully opened for operation. This has created further obstacles in efforts to ease movement in the Limi area beyond the Himalayas.
