World Tourism Day: Mini street festival at Pokhara's Lakeside

A mini street festival will be organized at Pokhara's Lakeside on the evening of Sunday, Asoj 11, to mark World Tourism Day. The Restaurant and Bar Association of Pokhara, known as REBAN, announced the festival at a press conference.

The festival will showcase Pokhara's traditional culture, local arts, domestic and foreign cuisine, and hospitality. Cultural dances, a live band and Gandharva singing will also be featured at the event.

REBAN Chairman Basant Gautam said the festival is being organized to send the message that "Nepal is open," at a time when the tourism sector is going through a difficult phase. He said the aim of the event is to convey that Pokhara's entrepreneurs are ready to welcome tourists despite incessant rain and adverse conditions.

This year's World Tourism Day has adopted the reimagining of tourism through the digital agenda and artificial intelligence as its global theme.
