Weather mainly clear in Tarai, light rain likely at one or two places in mountains and hills

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said the mountain and hill regions will see partly cloudy weather while the Tarai will be mainly clear.

According to the department, light rain or snow is possible at some places in the mountain and hill areas.

The department noted that the monsoon's low-pressure trough currently lies around its normal position, while the country as a whole is experiencing partial effects of westerly winds along with the monsoon winds.

The forecast indicates that tomorrow the entire country will see partly cloudy weather, with the possibility of light rain or snow at one or two places in the mountain and hill regions.

Among major cities, the department said Kathmandu's temperature will range between 14 and 16 degrees Celsius with no chance of rain.

Biratnagar is expected to see temperatures between 23 and 25 degrees, Janakpur between 22 and 24, and Nepalgunj between 21 and 23 degrees Celsius, with weather mainly clear in all three cities.

Birendranagar will see partly cloudy weather with temperatures between 19 and 21 degrees Celsius, the department said.

Pokhara, however, has a 20 percent chance of rain, with the department forecasting light rain accompanied by thunder. Pokhara's temperature is expected to range between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius.
