Madan Bhandari Cup international men's volleyball begins in Butwal

Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari is scheduled to inaugurate the Madan Bhandari Cup International Invitational Running Shield Men's Volleyball Tournament in Butwal at 3pm today.

Organised by the Madan Bhandari Sports Academy, this second edition of the tournament will run until Asoj 17. Eight teams are taking part, five from Nepal and three from abroad.

From Nepal, Nepal Police Club, APF Club, Manimukunda Volleyball Club, Sabhapokhari Volleyball Club and Galkot Volleyball Club will compete. Among the foreign teams is a team from Gujarat state, India.

According to academy chair Dhruba Acharya, the tournament will offer high-level play from both domestic and foreign players. Unveiling the trophy, Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City Deputy Mayor Savitra Aryal said the tournament would help establish Butwal as a sports tourism destination.
